Full disclosure: I only watched about half of this movie and then gave up. Therefore this review may or may not be impacted by this minor detail. Regardless, here is a Things I Fear Movie Review for REC 3. You might enjoy this more than the movie itself!
The first installment was great. The second was…a good effort. Much like this movie review for REC 3, it started off with low expectations that plummeted quickly. It tried to be a “found footage” type of film and then abandoned that premise entirely to replace it with a little Disney magic and cinematographic finesse which doesn’t bode well for any movie that relies on credibility. It was rough. The camera angles change from a shaky cell phones to “everyone pause. We need to re-apply the make-up” within seconds. It was definitely rough.
After a lot of running around and ending up somewhere different than whence she came, wife escapes with a priest and the husband freaks out. He then wears a suit of armour as you naturally would in an outbreak. The camera man sacrifices himself using the powers of obesity while the CDC staff is woefully unprepared for their career choice. This, of course, is despite the fact managing a disease outbreak is literally the one thing they need to know how to do. It’s about this point that I decided to punt on this movie and move on to greener pastures by circling the drain that is Netflix. Things did not get better for me.
I’ve essentially decided to give up on putting together a well constructed REC 3 Movie Review. As such, your input would be much appreciated! You can either contact us or let us know your thoughts on Facebook. As far as movie reviews go in general, this one was about as bad as the movie itself.
