Fear of Leaving The House is often referred to as Agoraphobia. Unfortunately, that name does not jive with the brand I am creating therefore must now be referred to as Fear of Leaving The House. I know you’ll understand.

Agoraphobia: Fear of Leaving the House

This Fear is a direct link to something a lot of people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder deal with which is the idea that by doing something (or not doing something) a negative result will occur. In this case, by leaving the house you will be engulfed in flames and/or literally anything else will happen. So, the only logical outcome in the equation known as life is to remain indoors at all times.

People with a Fear of Leaving The House often stare out their windows and assess the situation outdoors. On the flip side, people with this Fear also avoid windows because it’s no different than actually being outside. It’s a lot like your hesitation of going into the basement in the middle of the night, during a thunderstorm, with the power out because you thought you heard a young girl crying softly from inside a door you are positive is always locked. And you live alone. I mean, you’ll probably ultimately decide against investigating entirely but there’s still the chance she’s selling those Thin Mints you love so much… So maybe the comparison is wrong.
