Typically not a fan of sci-fi movies, this one was under the ‘horror’ section of Netflix in which I am powerless to resist. If you like space-related movies, were a fan of the Alien series or just like watching things about extra-terrestrial life in general, you may enjoy this. If you aren’t then this Things I Fear Movie Review about Life might not be for you. But please don’t leave now because we’re just getting started.

A couple of notable actors are in space, floating around and encountering issues. To simulate the feeling of being in space, the camera operators stood upside-down for the majority of the intro to this movie. One of the astronauts goes outside and rescues some capsule thing that has some importance to the plot and then things start to get interesting. Well, interesting is a relative description based on what you may consider to be even remotely worth your time. A mad scientist with a day job awakens a single cell.

Fans of Deadpool will be pleased to see the actor from Deadpool is one of the characters but then will also be disappointed because they’re not actually watching a Deadpool movie. There’s also that guy I get confused with the actor from the first couple Spider-Man movies. You know the guy. Kinda baby-faced looking dude with brown hair…ahhh can’t think of his name. The other characters might look familiar too but pop culture is not one of my strong suits unlike writing movie reviews that ramble on about things basically irrelevant to the movie itself.

So something goes wrong and the little cell that isn’t so little anymore stops interacting with the crew so naturally they electrocute it which makes it about as angry as anything else that suddenly gets electrocuted. It starts by eating a mouse and then things take a turn for the worse. It’s actually pretty intense because the little tadpole thing becomes a squid pretty quick and has the brain of an angry genius from the netherworld. The thing is a dickens.

Everyone in the movie does a good job being a hero but it doesn’t quite end up working the way they were hoping. But a valiant effort nevertheless. Things get pretty tense and you can’t help but think about how you would react if you were in outer space, floating around on a giant rocket ship thing with a creature that is determined to kill you in the most creative ways it can. And then at one point it suddenly acquires a face.

So overall this movie isn’t bad. It’s not great but it’s not bad. Hope this helped you decide whether to watch it or not. The plot twist at the very end is both predictable and awesome.

Toby Mcguire! That’s his name! That’s not who the actor in this movie is but that’s the guy I couldn’t remember from before. Probably not even how you spell his name but I bet there were people reading this just yelling at me for not knowing. You’re welcome for the closure. Did you enjoy this Life Movie Review?
